Olympia Non-profits will suffer
Proposition 1 doesn’t solve our most urgent problems, such as affordable housing, homelessness, accessible child care, and food security for our most vulnerable community members. Instead, it adds excessive administrative burdens on non-profits, which will reduce their capacity to serve our community's needs.
A Local Perspective
Non-profits in Olympia deserve better than the haphazard policies in Proposition 1. Olympia is home to the majority of service providers in Thurston County. Many of us were still recovering from the pandemic when we found out we would experience severe funding cuts from the Federal Government. Now, an out-of-town group is trying to make serving our missions even harder. The Olympia community is one of the most generous in supporting our most vulnerable members, but Proposition 1 will not deliver on its promises and puts our survival at risk if it passes.
